Dutch Railway Museum Utrecht

The Railway museum is well worth a visit and is located in a Railway Station not far from the old city centre:

Intetesting Museum that I visited in th 1970’s when a yoing lad with a Dutch Girl Friend! Things have changed big time since those days, but I think it is both interesting and a shame that the British Built 4-4-0 is in such a tricky place for Pictures. I believe that these Locomotives strongly resembled the Scottish ‘Dunalistairs’ probably being built by the same Scottish Builder?

At the time there were 2 or 3 Steam trams parked outside, I hope that they are better looked after these days. Perhaps someone with closer interest to Holland could tell us. Henri?

I went out with a Dutch girl once.... an unusual girl, used to wear inflatable shoes.... later I heard that sadly she'd popped her clogs.

On a more serious note.... great pics again, Martin - some very unusual prototypes there! Is that peculiar cab roofline a particularly Dutch thing, several of the locos seem to have similar styles....?
