Double heading with a Massoth Navigator

The Massoth (Mammoth ;)) Navigator is a nice controller for the MTS3, I have the same setup myself.

However, there are some limitations when the Navigator is used with MTS3 and they are listed in chapter 1.1.3 in the manual. The issue is the last limitation with automatic function routines which includes consisting (and automatic operation etc.).

I have to correct myself, consisting does work and here's how:

1) Go to the Menu (M3)
2) Go down to Automatic Progr. and press M2
3) Go down to Consist Progr. and press M2
4) Input values for Number (which is the consist adress) and the loco adresses to use in the consist and press OK
5) When back in the main window select Menu (M3)
6) Press M2 to select Consisting
7) Use M2 to select the consist number and confirm with M3
8) Run....

To those who are not aware and to help clarify the Massoth and indeed American Term. "Consisting" is used to indicate Double Heading to us Brits. Of course in USA it may mean more than Double Heading, could refer to Mid Train Helpers and even Bankers. All can be done with Massoth I believe. Though I have never needed the facility.

As a digital newbie, thanks a lot for this. As a result, got a 24 axle freight double headed by my two U class happily trundling around. Unprecedented scenes ! And once again no thanks at all to the clowns at Massoth who write their instruction manuals. There is a section on consists. It makes no sense whatsoever.

In German manuals it is called "Traction", I've had to detangle my Zimo manual, and they cleverly try to tell you why "Universal Consisting" is better than "Advanced Consisting"... I'm still not buying it, but where this is extremely common in the US, it's rare everywhere else I guess. It took 2 years before my Zimo system had it.

I had to make my own web page with instructions and pictures and tips to even sort it for myself.
