Does this exist

Tramway Demiel 1910 en France
I am looking for a clear liquid product that I can paint onto the roofs of my buildings to make them waterproof. The buildings are all made from concrete blocks which are fine for leaving outside, but I bring all the roofs inside throughout the year. The roofs are all made from plywood and the tiles are painted on. Does such a thing exist?

There are all sorts of clear, waterproof, UV protecting finishes for wood and other types of surfaces available. Coogle "clear waterproof finishes".

Full strength external PVA ought to do a good job. In Peter Jones book on buildings he talks about scorching wood then giving it the PVA treatment. Might be worth a try if you are brave enough.

As Phil says, plenty of products out there according to google. I imagine many of them will leave a glossy finish which might change the look of the roof, so keep that in mind when choosing.

Waterproof PVA looks like glue dries clear - extra water in a squeezy bottle one with a spout and a slug of washing up liquid, you can use on ballast outdoors and seal roofs, may need to be a little thicker for the roof takes an age to dry.

I have used various different waterproofing methods before; some of them just dont work, others lift the original paint off the roof, but I think I have answered my own question! I found an old recipe on the 'net; a mix of walnut oil and apple cider vinegar. I live in a part of France where walnut oil is plentiful and cheap so nothing to lose. I slapped it on and waited to see wha thappens. Its still drying but is really soaking into the wood, and not lifting the paint off. A thunderstorm is approaching so it will be a good test!!! Thanks for all suggestions

Novel!
I guess the oil provides the protection, and the vinegar aids dispersal and penetration?

Let us know how it hold's-up. :)
