Does anyone want to take over RC Trains?

I set up the business just over a year ago and, without any advertising or any self promotion, it has become quite successful. A bit too successful from my point of view. I am now finding it too much.

In addition to running the business (which I would say takes up about half the week), I am looking after my 96yo mother, my wife is not in the best of health and I have recently developed some health issues of my own. And besides all that, I'd like to spend more time playing with my own railway - which has been somewhat neglected for the past year.

If you are interested in turning your hand to something productive then please PM me. You need to be handy with a soldering iron and have a basic understanding of electrics, electronics and radio control. All the stock, documentation, spreadsheets, website etc will be transferred 'at cost' to the new owner and I will guide my successor through the hand-over period and initial stages.

This may suit someone who is just retiring or maybe someone who is a lot more entrepreneurial than me who would like to make something more of the business.

Please pass the information on to anyone else who you think might be interested - my contact details are on the RC Trains website.

I would just like to inform you all that I will be handing over RC Trains to Phil Partridge of this parish (PhilP) on 15 March. Phil has plenty of experience of large scale model trains and also of electronics and so is well placed to take on board RC Trains. I will be supporting him through the handover and early stages but I know he has plenty of ideas as to where to take the business and how to develop the range of products and services further.

Many thanks to all here for your encouragement and support.

Upwards and onwards! Bestest to both of you.

Fantastic news for all...

All the best Phil. I happily recommend the Deltang RC to anyone who asks. I have 6 battery RC locos using the Deltang tx22 and a mixture of Deltang and RC Trains receivers and have found it to be an excellent set up. The new Warley G scale layout will use an RC trains transmitter and receiver to provide track power to the inner circle. I think this will be a talking point when we go to exhibitions.
We will be running the layout at our open day on Sunday using my tx and plan to place an order for a club tx and rx on Monday if all goes well on Sunday, I'm using a bench power supply to the receiver set at 16 volts and 2.5 amps which is plenty for smaller locos and should be within the power handling capabilities of the rx.

Good luck with your venture Phil....

Thanks for the good wishes, all!

Rik seems to have done the hard-work.. Just need to make sure I don't c*ck it up!

PhilP.

All the best for the new business! - will you be doing RC for gauge one live steam (Black 5) - and if so, do you have a website link?

Will take you to the site..
RCTrains can supply you with transmitter(s), receiver(s), servo's, wiring looms etc.
There are links to how people have installed in various types of loco, in various scales.
I see no reason why gauge one should be any different.

Well done sir - seems a natural progression :clap::clap::clap::clap:

To save keep saying it:

Thank you to all previous, and future, good wishes for this venture, and thanks on Rik's behalf for well-wishes for his ongoing good health.

We can use this thread for RCTrains queries if you wish, but these would probably be better addressed via the RCTrains website, where you will find up to date contact details. - You can of course 'PM' via the Forum.
Phil Partridge, February 2017.
