Hi Guy & Girls,
Well I?ve almost finished Phase 2, it?s been progressing slowly all summer, due to outside factors. Anyway a few pictures of the progress. The track is now down and I have just finished some planting, if the weather is good tomorrow I will get the camera out.

Ye Gods!
Do you live in a quarry?
Those are the size of boulders I would love to have in my garden but the thought of shifting them brings tears to the eyes.

I hate to criticise, but your ballast looks a bit over-scale to me.... :rolf:

Those rocks have had to come a long way to get to Sutton!

A truss springs to mind - and I don't mean the bridge variety.:o:

Probably the result of the last glacial morass down Rose Hill....

It will look great Tony...welcome to the unofficial Rio Grande offshoot, splinter, subsection, popular front forum group!

I brought 2 tonnes of Irish Water Worn stone, I asked for manageable pieces! God know what I would have got if I asked for large ones. It took 2 strong lads and me to move them from my drive to the bottom of the garden (100 ft). They didn?t go very far.
When I start Phase 3 (the koi pond) I think I?m going to need about 3 Tonnes, not looking forward to moving them.

A very nice trestle and the transition from boulders to trestle will look good.
Cheers,
Kim
These were before the planting.

Brilliant!!! Some more pics of the overall view would be great. It takes confidence to embark on a project of that scale and permanence well done.

Blimey O'Reilley....

Hi Mike, how does an East Anglia chap know Rose Hill, I'm only 10mins from Rose Hill.

Welllll Tony, I used to live in Wimbledon for about 26years and had reasons to come over to Sutton on many occasions. I can remember getting a flat tyre on the down slope of Rose Hill and having some of the local 'life' come and give me jip.

As to your phase 4 'heap', if you keep on going there will be an imbalance in the Earth's mass and you will cause to spin/wobble out of control mate!

You are going to have to change your name from 'littlestone'.

By the way I was born in Carshalton (no not St Helier's, I was a home delivery). Lived in Carshalton, Wallington, Mitcham Junction and Sutton (not all at the same time), before moving to Abingdon 35 years ago. My parents used to have a pub in Carshalton, near the Ponds.

You seem to have imported a good bit of the " Rocky Mountains " to your yard. Looks like a good start. I live just east of the " Mountains " and see them daily!

I just love the boulders Tony, and I must say that I am partial to a rock or two around the ol' place.
