and on another issue entirely
its most odd
my 2051s has the very same light issue-ie what appears to be
5v at the 12 ovclock and 4 oclock (fullly bright) and a
12v at the 10 oclock -(dim)
came that way and i have yet to pull the board and see whats us

Sounds great Andy!

I used to run on analogue myself, using a Train Engineer. In fact, the links in my signature were filmed during my analogue period.

However, I went MTS at the beginning of 2011, as I didn't like loosing the sound when changing direction in the terminus or on the reversing loops....

It's an e motion xls chip which had been fitted to the loco by previous owner, so I couldn't tell you if it comes like that or has to be programmed, those digitally minded folks out there may be able to help.

As far as the lights go it did strike me as strange the way they are different.
I presumed it was the decoder but from what you say it looks that it may be normal unless anybody knows different.

The Loco runs well and I don't particularly want to mess with it as I would not be able to reprogramme it.
I follow the principle of if it ain't broke don't fix it.
