Not sure where else to put this, but has anyone else had trouble with DHL 'express deliveries'? A parcel from GRS set off on Wednesday, all fine, until it arrived at Leeds where it has been on hold for three full days now, with a surprise trip to East Midlands while it was on hold at Leeds? DHL wont talk to me because I didn't send it..... Has anyone else had this with DHL? Rant over, but GRS will be on to it on Monday if no change.

Maybe it was this driver after he got sacked from Yodel;

How timely. That's just the way I feel today !!!!!!!!!!:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Of late, I've found that all of the parcels services are fighting to be the worst, with the notable exceptions of Hermes, DPD and the Royal Mail (we live in The Old Post Office and many still remember working here).

Bottom of the heap are:

UPS - it'll be with you some time during the day - 12 hour window. Unusable website to re-schedule delivery date. Hopeless customer service who can only tell you what you've just found out (that you can't re-schedule the delivery date!)
Parcelfarce - got a tracking number, but the parcel doesn't exist. For international stuff (imports) same as UPS - 12 hour window.

And I'll happily add DHL (haven't had much to do with them here)

You're absolutely right, though. the problem is that you are not the customer, as you haven't paid them any money - there is no contract.

It's a bit like the train companies who could run their trains on time if there were less passengers :D:D:D:D:D:D

I'd add myHermes. I had an email this late yesterday with a tracking number and link to the tracking site and so far it doesn't look like the parcel has even been picked up. :(:(

That's quite normal to get the tracking number before it shows as picked up. MyHermes tracking is often behind the times. I get parcels arrive at our company reception desk when they're still not even out for delivery according to the site! MyHermes usually seems to get the job done ok though.
DPD Still my favourite of the parcel/courier companies.

It has shown up now (within the last half hour) as collected, but at 14.30 this afternoon. No doubt I will be told it's "on the delivery van" after it gets here. This sort of tracking is really not a lot of use.

Hate to buck the trend, but I use UPS booked via Interparcel for a lot of outgoing stuff (including a number of parcels to the US) and I have to say that, so far, they've been pretty good.... maybe I've just been lucky..... :worried:

Jon.

Have to agree no probs with UPS in our area, had some GRS delys absolutley on time,

On the sending side Hermes seem to be going fine at the moment I have sent some 40 parcels *** in the last few weeks, no problems all arrived on time and I had some exceptionally fast deliveries one to Southampton ( from North Wales) next day and another to South of Shrewsbury dropped of at the collection point 3-00PM delivered 8-00AM next day.

Had a couple of rapid deliveries here this week also 1 Hermes & 1 Yodel well before the expected time

*** No not all Railway Stuff!!!

Just checked the my Hermes tracker again and it looks like my package hasn't moved since Saturday; it's still on the pick-up van. :banghead:

We received a parcel yesterday that has taken Hermes 2 weeks to deliver. According to the tracking it sat in their sorting office for a week. It went on eBay dispute as the sender couldn't be bothered to advise of the tracking number.

Just a note of warning concerning Hermes I have posted a large number of parcels with them and always paid for additional insurance , I needed to make a claim a few weeks ago but it was impossible to find a link to do so I then sent a registered letter but got no reply added to this you only get a month to make a claim , in future I will only use them for low cost items

Noted Barry. Having just checked again I see that my parcel has now been received at the local depot, so it appears to have sat for two days on some van, and it hasn't even been sorted yet. Abysmal service.

I've just used Parcel2Go to book a Hermes collection. (Not for G Scale items.)

One of the optional boxes to tick was for insurance. Unticking this box gave you a note that they recommend you purchase insurance. So the small cost involved, I did.

The thing that gets my goat is all these extra costs you pay for after they give you a cheap quote, but I guess all the parcel firms do so?

I have booked collection for Thu 10 Dec and will see how good the Hermes service is for myself....

Just come up that it was sorted at the National hub at 11.50 this morning. This so called tracking is so far delayed as to be completely useless.:rolleyes:

I'm tracking some books from Amazon - out for delivery yesterday to my son's address. Didn't arrive. Now tracking says by the 12th (if not ask for refund or replacement!). Royal Mail no less.

Awaiting a parcel that was sent from DHL Germany to Parcelforce on Monday, which apparently arrived in the UK on Saturday

Now I know we aren't always on the same time as those over the Channel, but arriving before it was sent is a new one on me.
