I am talking about 'other' issues in post 19.

It is clear that you are not happy with the route that Marklin is taking nor the products that they are making. It is important to recognise that others may well have a different view.

Now then Children! Play nicely!! ;)

There are a number of us who have had issues with the CS2(now 3) system, and legacy equipment.
There are also issues with making the CS'n' work in our 'normal' Garden Railway environment.

Some on here will love it. Others not.

We are a broad church. All opinions are those of the Author, and we should all agree to disagree but respect each others views..

Now, back outside and play nicely until the bell goes.. :(:*

Philip, Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated.

Just wondering if an auto firmware update sort of option is feasible, or not.

Buy a new piece of kit that has a newer firmware, and it updates the older version on your existing equipment.

SHUDDER!!!!!!!!

NO!!!!!!!

It will all end it tears!!! - I trust them NOT!

Tend to agree with you Phil. I just use stuff until it fails. Upgrades frequently end in hassle - just look at some of the posts on here!

It may well end in tears, but would like to avoid tears in the first place, or as I call my upgrade failings.

Tried to upgrade my older Massoth navigator on two occasions, first time I ended sent it to Mark (Muns) to sort, second time it actually ended up home at Massoth for them to sort.

Now I have a new, second navigator, I would like to have them on the same software version, but I am getting a cold sweat just thinking about it. :worried:

Other than the pictographs, I dont see much changes.

I usually miss out firmware upgrades to 'fix' something that you don't consider to be broken. Having said that I regularly update decoder firmware if a new feature looks useful (or fun to play with)
At the moment Zimo are still adding functionality to the MX10 Central Station and MX32 Throttles via firmware upgrades so I've got no choice really. There is a version of the firmware 'hardwired' into the command station tho so if the upgrade goes pearshaped it is still usable and capable of accepting another upgrade attempt.
