the guards van in the first pic - is it from swift sixteen?

You've done a very nice job on the Toy Train passenger cars

How did you create the enlarged side tanks on your Stainz ? I must say they look very effective :thumbup:
(apologies if you have answered this elsewhere!)

hi paul
the brake van is scratched built on a hartland chassis to my own design ,and the C L R 's goverening management . I will tell you how I make them soon it the kit bash section because I keep pictures during building . as I am working this weekend I will post them asap .

hi Garry
I build quite a few of these and now they are been called stainzluts by some of my friends . they are easy once you strip them down. I use 80 and 60 plastic card the rivets are hornby track pins ( the dome type) and 1/16th brass rod ,the hatches on top are made from 40 card which I punch out using over sized hole punch ,and if you a bit more weight in the stainz you can glue in a bit more lead .there is no reason why you cannot put batteries in them .the side tanks are attached to the cab and side using liquid poly so it is one unit and does not interfer with the rest of the loco
hope this helps

Held out well there Graham - enjoyed the visit

Thanks for the pics - thinking about the plastic off cuts i showed you
especially looking at the planking detail on your second pic
It might just work and thanks for the tip the 'Pipe weld' glue works
if you put a flat coat on first and let it dry
(off to do a bit more skip raiding in the morning  )
