Hi, Colin here, getting back into my garden railway and now am gradually changing over from analogue to digital. Would like to install a LGB 55027 Decoder into a LGB F7 A and B units as I have a couple spare that were purchased (cheap compared to Oz) on a recent trip to Europe. Have created a pdf file from various bits of info on the web as the LGB instructions are not very clear although it does state it can be done but not recommended!!! I would appreciate any feedback regarding the info I have downloaded rather than fry a decoder especially if other members have undertaken a similar project. I realise this will be a Serial set up with 14 speed steps but just wanted to run some of my earlier locos now I have changed to Digital, am running the PIKO system. Will then attempt my Brown Mallet if no problems with the same 55027 decoder as did not want to remove/replace the original sound unit.
