Connie & RS3

Great video Chris  your line has changed a bit since our last visit

nice shots.
The connie IS a very nice loco, i like mine, too.
Like the wood-train.

I also like the RS, but i have none, because i fear the optical fitting to the rest of my rolling stock (gauge).

Greetings

Frank

A very pleasant few minutes spent watching your line [strike]Katrina[/strike] Chris!
Good to see that rake of bulkheads again.

Nice to see those excellent coil cars again.:thumbup:

A very enjoyable video to watch Chris.
Someone mentioned the coil cars: I had forgotten you had them. ;)
I also wonder about the logging train. Nine cars; what is the lumber load? How lightweight are the 'poles'?

The log wagons are Bachmann or HLW flat wagons except the one which was a Bachmann tank wagon. The "logs" are Buddelia branches glued to black card. That way the load is light and it can be removed so I can run trains one way loaded and the other way empty.

Empty. The nearest one in the first photo used to be a tank wagon.

Thank you Chris for the explanations. I have two or three buddleia bushes of differing colours. They are easily pruned and yes, they are lightweight but I never considered using them before. I have cherry wood 'logs' which do look like large tree trunks but being 'heavy' consists are limited to three flats. It is always worthwhile to ring the changes however.
I have also removed the tanks from two Bachmann cars and mounted short bobber cabooses upon each of them. One tank, is in use, as you have done, being a grounded storage tank. I have yet to find a purpose for the second tank. I painted out the name on the side of the tank - and some other detail as well - with acrylic black paint. I was pleased that it obliterated the original design completely with just one coat of paint. I use military modelers paint usually.
