Confused!

I recently bid and won what is described as "LGB 95034 Lehman Toytrain G Scale Station Track Crossing"

It has arrived but I'm confused. The box is marked Toytrain (as the description) but on the underneath and moulded into the plastic it says "PIKO"?

Would a member explain please?

Thanks,

SW

There's quite a bit of 'badge engineering' in the buildings department.

I bought a couple of LGB buildings, and a Piko building - they're basically the same, so I assume that Piko make 'em for LGB. In fact, looking at them now, I can't remember which one is supposedly made by which manufacturer

I assume at this stage you have not left any feedback, have gone back and questioned the seller, or are you confused by content with your purchase.

Perfectly normal and correct PIKO make certain items for LGB. no different to the old playmobil track that was sold in a playmobil box but when opened was just lgb track with the lgb logo.

I think Rhinochugger and wandgrudd have hit the nail on the head. The catalogue photos for LGB 95034 and PIKO 62006 appear to show an identical product, albeit photographed in a slightly different manner.

Some while back we had a full review in here of the varying Scales and Gauges. Tried without luck to find it but no matter I wanted to give some information of how things have changed over the years in the Larger Scales.,

Now I know this is a free broadsheet but the "Railway Magazine guide to Modeling" issued Monthly is worth a read if you can find it. In the August Issue on Page 17 was this interesting Table of Scales and Gauges.

Scale/
Gauge Track Gauge Currently Used Track Gauge
3 75mm 63.5mm
2 54mm 50.8mm (not in current use?)
1 48mm 45mm
I have often wondered for a long time if there was a Gauge 2 and what it was.

Some interesting variants there, no wonder we get confused!

Just to confuse things even more, the Germans refer to our Gauge 3 (64mm) as Spur II (Gauge II), and "G scale" (yes, I know....) at 1:22.5 on 45mm as "Spur IIm" (for Metre Gauge).
