First I hope it's Ok to post this here (after all I am inviting you to come and see, and run on, track that I laid ;D ) I did do this in Coffee Lounge but anything other than daily banter is buried there in seconds- hope that's OK. (Maybe we need a general area or the like out side the daily chat thread? ) Anyways.....

I am in West Oxfordshire and have a railway with minimal scenery and that runs on DC (battery and steam welcome) my min radius is r5 although there are some r5 reverses where a left runs immediately to a right. About half the loop is out of sight but has access. PM if you want to come and I will provide details.

All welcome, lunch provided, pics below of last year;

It has always frustrated me that I have never been able to get to one of your open days, as I only live in Abingdon, you are almost `next door`. Previously it has always clashed with other engaements, but this year `I`m free`. I shall bring my Claptowte Railway stock which, as you have pointed out, could double for Cogges Railway (for the day, at least).[

Its in my calendar. Although the auto correct has changed it to "coffee railway open day". Do you know whether USAT aluminium passenger cars will make it round the reverse curve? They are fine on R5 but don't like reverse curves .

Hi Neil, no worries and as yous ay always another opportunity.

Chris, great you can come... I would be optimistic they would be OK, I have had big amtrak cars on here before. Here is the reverse curve in question:

Sincerely hope to get there this year Ian.
Yep Chris, they were my Amtrak cars that ran around the CR and the reverse curve is fine.
I could bring my Aristo streamliners this time (with a kit-bashed full length dome observation car) to make it a real passenger day ..or maybe a work train...oh the choices.... the choices....

Will try to make it, much enjoyed last time. A live steam Climax (properly insulated wheels) and its logging train do you ? Max.

Now that would be nice to see!.....It is on my wish list to one day go with me LS shays

Max and Mike that's great! Live steam always welcome

Yes that's the same place on the last layout where that section was in mortar- no longer. I think maybe the photo either foreshortens the curve or I have some straight in the second one... Anyways it's very gentle.

Looking forward to seeing you all... any more for anymore?

Ian

Thank you for a great day and for laying on such wonderful weather. Love the garden. It was great to meet a number of forum members and find them to be an even more friendly bunch, in the flesh, as they are on-line.
