Chipping an old 2 pin motor

So I have an old 2 pin motor that I want to chip.  Is it as simple as connecting the green and yellow wires of a 55021 to the pins and the brown and white to  the tabs on the motor and ensuring no contact between the tabs and the pins any longer (e.g. be reversing the motor unit) and worms?

Apologies if this has been asked before but can`t find it in old threads.

TIA

Nigel

NO!!!!!!!! :-[

I don't know if you meant to put it that way round or not, but you'll blow the chip if you do it as you've written it.....

The GREEN and YELLOW wires go the the MOTOR TABS, the BROWN and WHITE ones to the TRACK POWER (ie: the pickup pins).

The rest of your post is fine - as long as the motor is fully insulated from the power pins, then it is that simple. ;)

I've blogged it here if this is any use
