I'm having problems posting on the CFR thread so I'm starting another thread.
The CFR took delivery of a new locomotive, railcar, scenic coach and a few more wagons.

The Playmobil sets are being used to raise funds. We hire them out for five minute periods for £1. They are very popular with the younger element of our visitors and are a great way of introducing them to our hobby.
We intend to have regular slots for running these units as they do tend to take over our normal operations.(Probably 4 x 30 minutes).

How do you find the range on the playmobil transmitters. I use one with the playmobile steamer for track cleaning (dragging emery cloth) and I find the range is too small. I end up laying the transmitter in the open wagon and letting it ride with the train.

Hi Alan

The layout is 'L' shape, and is about 70/80 feet in each direction.

If the operator stands in the corner, not a proplem.

If the operator wonders in any direction, sometimes the loco

forgets what's it is doing at the opposite end of the layout.

Mind you, the batteries only seam too last about 20 minutes.
