Im Heading off all on my tod on the ferry from Hull to Rotterdam tomorrow evening with tickets booked for the behind the scenes mini tour of Miniature wonderland on Thursday in Hamburg, Also visiting one of my other fav things U-boats ! in Bremahaven and Hamburg as "Das Boot" being my fav film.

Being on my tod and not having the "dear wife" suggesting "pretty things" to do, I am reaching out for any Suggestions for G scale Shops or good model shops to visit or layouts (I also model HOm) to break up the drive ? I am planning on visiting "On traXS 2026" @ Spoorwegmuseum in Utrecht On Sat before heading back to the ferry Sat night.

There are a couple of model railway shops in Hamburg. One is between die Rathaus and Miniature Wonderland.

The other is to the east of the Hauptbahn, at the next S Bahn Station.

Neither did G Scale AFAIK....

Like most things in life now its an "extra" on the standard ticket (39 euros inc admission), they do "english" tours also but you have to email them to get the dates, I wasnt able to get on one of those but was advised of a Tour leader at 3pm that spoke perfect English and would be happy point the odd thing out and answer some question but have to accept it will be in german but still see behind the public areas.

Im quite giddy and just thought its now or never and the ferry was cheap, I cant be bothered with planes and enjoy a mini road tour but did see Manchester to Hamburg was only £40 each way a few weeks ago.

I couldn't find the other.

We stayed at the Premier Inn at Meßburg U bahn station, convenient for Midlands.

We brought a Hamburg travel pass for the city which enabled us to travel from the airport on S bahn and then U bahn and on buses in the city, before leaving for Germany....
