These are on Ebay USA. The price seems to good to be true. I have no experience with Buddy "L", other than seeing it on Ebay now and then.

I wonder if anyone here has any first hand knowledge of their equipment. The description says they are "Die Cast" models.

They are certainly not die cast, only the Buddy L locos were part die cast metal. The wagons are made using old Big Hauler moulds, or possible copies and are similar quality to the early Bachmann stuff. But at $40 for 4 it is a bargain!

I have a sneaking suspicion the are made by Bachmann, but don't quote me.

I bought some of these around 4yrs ago. Excellent value inc metal wheels. They are virtually identical to the Bachmann box car kits except that they come assembled and painted. They appear to be a different possibly thinner plastic to the normal big hauler models but no less satisfactory for it. Mine have run hundreds of scale miles faultlessly behind the Annies and K27.
I would not think twice about grabbing them. My son is coming over from Seattle in 6 weeks if I thought for one minute he could find space in his luggage I would jump at them.

Going into the USPS site, and calculating the cost to ship to the UK, I got about $60.00. That's based on a 7 pound package, 16" x 10" x 12". That's about the tightest you could possibly pack them. The actual cost can't be determined until the package gets to the post office. However, the seller only ships to the USA.

If anyone is really interested, I would make the purchase and send them.
