Yes - absolutely brilliant - I would presume that everything (locos, etc.) are all hand built.

i thought it was a mixture of marklin gauge 1 and margum rolling stock

Very special, and interesting too. I take away two lessons - for indoor layouts small ballast looks good, and that texture in the ground-cover does the work of trees, which can be effectively used in the background where they can be smaller.
