You might enjoy it Phil. You never know, you may want to buy something! Have you seen the price the EWS 66s fetched over the weekend? On a good day I have managed to get to my daughter's house in Hampshire in a fraction over 3 hours - it's 198 miles from here on the edge of nowhere and we always do the round trip in a day.
Mike.

I never enjoy the A14!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh go on Phil, it would be a good day out (even with the A14, but, which I have to admit, is not too bad early on a Saturday and later on a Sat afternoon).... lots of real steam of all scales right up to 1:1, a lovely little narrow gauge train trip around the extensive site and also G scale stuff to boot..... oh yes and there is the steam carousel for good measure....

It's a really good place to visit, even without the garden railway show. Plenty of exhibits and great gardens, something for everyone. As for the A14, just think what it would be like without it!

If you can make it, come and introduce yourself. I will be there with Hambleden Valley and you are welcome to come and have a play.

It is one I haven't 'done'..

Depends a lot on how it falls, what with the babysitting rota, level of RC Trains orders to service, and if the *&%%* papers are late that morning..

Now, if I can persuade someone else to drive, I can snooze.. ;)
Unfortunately, SW doesn't..

I spend 2 hours a (working) day on the A14, but at least I'm driving on the interesting bit?

My cousin calls it the most boring drive in the world when she has to drive from Ipswich to the M6....

For those of you who may be attending, I have started a list of what will be available on my stand in the Private Sales section. I will update as I sort more items out.

I find it quite relaxing as from Ipswich until the Cambridge area (with the speed cams etc.) one can put one's foot down and glide through some pleasant 'flat' scenery especially if the light is right.

I'll be there, as it's the nearest garden railway show to home and I missed Peterborough this year due to house move

Sounds very unpleasant, A11 upwards is my best, it drives me nuts (see what I did there?). After a days work it seems an endless ribbon of tarmac and lorries

A good day. Met with Gizzy, Beavercreek, MTheStrong, Brixham to name just a few. Also hope to have recruited some new forumites who'd never heard of GSC. Have made a small dent in my fleet (takings were twice those of last year), but due to the presence of Mrs Ebay I was unable to acquire anything new. Still, I have made a couple of stealth purchases during the past week which will be revealed in due course. Had a chat with the guy who runs ECR (Train aka NQ importer) who said the visitors were mainly going for cheaper items. I noted what I considered high prices being sought for some secondhand items and wondered if I should have pitched a little higher. Perhaps it was me, but I felt something of an outsider, not being a proper trader. There were a couple of dealers who checked out what I had to offer and thought I ought to fund their lifestyle by accepting their offers to 'take it off my hands'. One got the hump because I refused to take one of his cheques 'which are as good as cash'. Having worked in Banking and Finance for over 35 years I put him right (and his nose out of joint - I suspect).
Thanks to those who stopped by and those who made purchases.

Glad you had a good day. I was tempted but it's a 2 - 3 hour journey for me and my wonderful lady decided to treat me to see Dunkirk at the local movie-plex thingy.

Did you clear all the items you listed for sale or are there any left overs?

Reading here about all of you who obviously know each other, whether it be by secret handshake or some other arcane method, it struck me that apart from a couple of traders - John Sutton and Rod Bushill - and my pal with the small-scale traction engine who follows me around every place I go - I never recognised a soul, nor got recognised either, in spite of brazenly carrying a large CANADA backpack - as notified here yesterday.

Isn't it time for a forum pin/hat/badge of some kind to reflect our interest in this type of railway modelling?

That way just like 16mm-ers and Gauge 1-ers, we can at least get to say hello.
