Wow! I save all my boxes and, thankfully, I can still read what it says on the box! I could be worth many thousands! Considering there are a pair of EBT (Bachmann) coaches a couple of pages down with free postage I wonder what's happened in the market place over the last couple of days :D

Hm yes things do appear to have changed, a couple of loco that I was watching on Ebay for around 3500 have now both jumped by a 1000. Perhaps the interest in Railways due to lock down has bumped the market up due to greater demand?

They came in both track pick-up and battery for the lighting but I think the battery ones came in sets therefore no boxes. They are a very projected price. I bought some new set ones without boxes for about 1/8th what is being asked many moons ago.

What worries me about all these (very) inflated prices, is that some keen new comer to our ranks will actually bid and pay for those items.
I feel sorry for those that do get sucked in. There is a retailer selling on our Trade Me at prices about 3 times the real worth.... but, you get free shipping!

She won't sell 'em unless she does a little research and gets realistic with her pricing. This is the only train thing she has for sale. The rest of her inventory is a complete mélange. Buy from a fellow modeller, not from some dizzy halfwit babe.

With all due respect to the seller but I think they are one of these eBay sellers that have the entire opportunity shop listed from the bargain haul they have picked up from garage sales etc. Probably knows nothing about our large scale trains and saw some Accucraft coach prices on eBay and assumed they had much the same. They're dreamin.

Ah it isn't if you know Bachmann J&S coaches - there are 12 windows!
To be exact they are Bachman big hauler Jackson coaches.

ET&WNC combine #89292

ET&WNC passenger car #89291

So those labels she’s shown bear no resemblance to the actual contents.

I wonder what the labels on the end of the boxes say.

They should have track powered lighting an obviously metal wheels.
An identical boxed pair sold on e-bay in July for £50 each.

NB: She's also listed a bunch of LGB track too.

Hi Paul. What you say is true if we want to go to the Nth degree - I have a number of the coaches (40 plus) and I could see, regardless of the box, the number of windows (12) in the passenger car. LGB's are shorter and the Piko ones even more shorter. They are all based on the Jackson & Sharp coaches - the only ones I know that are more or less correct are those made by Accucraft (wish I had some).

The Bachmann ones do look respectable though. My whole point was "how on earth can someone expect to get that price!" when there were some for sale in the same section for £45 each including postage! It raises the ire in me! Often, I'll contact the seller and tell them they've got it wrong. I'm a pedantic old get!

I prefer the ones with the battery box - too much drag with the wheel pick-ups!

Unfortunately sellers use the term LGB to refer to any large scale items, just like anything that sucks up dirt is called a Hoover.
