Woke up this morning thinking that we would miss the brunt of the stuff coming in from the North Sea. They said it would only hit south Essex, well they got that wrong didn't they?

A few shots from the confines of the house at a layout that sort of resembles the Rio Grande in the grip of winter. Shame my snow plow is not man enough to take on the snow.

Quarry grinds to a halt...no work today

Hi Mike (Spike)
I reckon you make that bridge a covered one!

I think that we need this on our layouts:-

That would be nice.
Thats twice in one year the line has been snowed out, amazing for the Sunny South Coast

Thanks Tony and after I took so much trouble with it too.

I took your statement to heart and cleared a little snow out of the way and gave me ski train an outing:

Left the warm cosiness and braved the snow (30 cms deep in parts -1foot in old money) and got a little closer to the layout.

First I looked for the main station but it was hard to find:

I was impressed by the dedication to duty that the maintenance guy expressed..or was he just frozen stiff?

One person was not so calm he is obviously a little distressed that the snow will soon be up over the windows of his lookout post!

Wandered over to 'Point Rock' and it all seemed a little dead but on looking closer the blacksmith was still operating...that's what a warm forge will do for you.
