Does it have to be a Massoth decoder (nothing wrong with them, just that you might find a cheaper option)?
I don't own the loco, but from the wiring diagram for the Porter it looks easy enough: a case of unscrewing and disconnecting some jumper wires and connecting these to the decoder, so on that basis I'd say a decoder with screw terminals will do the job nicely. Alternatively a pre-wired decoder could be hooked up via a terminal block.
Probably doesn't have to take a lot of power, a 3 amp decoder should easily handle it I'd have thought. I'd probably try something in the 1.5 - 2 amp range if I had something to hand, otherwise for simplicity probably whatever 3 amp screw-terminal decoder can be found at a good price (eg. Digitrax DG383, ESU LokPilot XL, Massoth XL to name three)
