Ok, first things first lets get in side.
Remove the four large screws towards the rear of Percy and the cab will lift off.
If you remove all eight screws then his boiler will come off as well! but if you need to drill for smoke see below it prevents plastic swarf in the eye gears.

Gently pull his face and maybe slightly squeeze the sides to allow access to the base of his funnel if you require a smoke unit. Now drill a 10mm hole all the way through to allow the smoke unit to fit. I used a massoth 19v version.

Total time about an hour:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Yes but time prevented it this time as it a birthday prezzy for the daughter but will fit lights later as per my Thomas and James.

Good little 'How To' :thumbup:
From your pictures it looks like you 'wired out' the 3-way switch - I suppose that you don't need it with DCC.

Does anyone know if the Percy model, "Bachmann - Percy w/Sound & DCC" will operate in the analog mode, as advertised and still have at least the chuff sound ?

I believe it will.
I have a Thomas w/sound etc., but I turned the sound off. There's just so much chuff I can put up with.

Well, I just pulled the trigger on a Percy with DCC and Analog capabilities. I understand, from someone on Youtube, that the sound still operates when running analog. However, the "special sounds" need DCC to hear.

All the "OEM" Thomas family decoders are "detuned" SoundTraxx Tsunami decoders, and they all have DC/DCC "switching".

Unfortunately, very few special sounds... All I got for Emily was a whistle, nothing else... for me a waste of money on a crippled decoder (there are other issues with the decoder)
