Re:Awesome

And, sadly, I see the modeller in question is no longer with us. A memorial, indeed.

Re:Awesome

It certainly sets the bench mark at a high level

Re:Awesome

Fantastic attention to detail,
particularly like the overhead drive detail with different speed pulleys & the fast & loose wheels
I remember watching a thread during his build of this, when he was wondering what to do with the spot where the Ullian's Machine building now is, cant remember which forum or group tho
Shame we have to die when we get to the peak of our creativity

Re:Awesome

Just goes to show, there are modelers and there are MODELERS

Re:Awesome

amazing attention to detail
the figures are beautifully painted as well

i cannot imagine the time and the cost-
so many detail parts

i cannot imagine that was a kit-perhaps there was a basic kit-but some of the shop shots look real to me

there guys who build dioramas-and that is the reward

and then there those of us who play trains-and also are satisfied

Re:Awesome

I have seen many architectural models and marvelled at them but his models are leagues away from those.
Truly astonishing.

Re:Awesome

Amazing....

Re:Awesome

Looks fantastic just love the close up's of the work shop

Re:Awesome

Stunned ...simply stunned.
Even though we 'outside modelers' have to take care with how we create detail (sturdiness, light fast colours, weather protection, animal probs etc etc), this model and others on the site just shows what is possible, if the skill is available. It also can just give great simple ideas...like the corrugated sheeting OVER the shingles...must use that

Re:Awesome

Click on the "Real World" section of the site for some supurb pics of the Sugar Pine railroad shays in Yosemite. I've been and the sound of the chime whistles through the trees give you goose bumps, absolutely awesome.

Re:Awesome
