Like most of the Aristo big diesels it's 4 foot minimum radius (8' diameter) according to the manual, but with many users saying it's happier with 10 foot or more diameter from what I've read elsewhere - some of that may be down to coupling swing I suspect.
Yes, you can run the loco on 8' diameter, but if you have a car coupled to it, it might throw it off the track. Couple a short car with a truck mounted coupler, make sure it has some good weight to it.
Indeed, Aristocraft recommended 8ft, diameter as minumum for this loco. Anything less would look somewhat out of place I believe. The larger the radii the better.
