Picked up this davenport on eBay and went to work a new project. Have to stop at this point to let it dry before I finish weatheringdav1.jpgdav2.jpgdav3.jpgdav5.jpgdav6.jpg

Mmmmmm.... That looks good. Has anyone rescaled one to 1:20.3? Looks like a good basis for a ng bash.

It is 'nominally' a 1:20.3 model. I'm in the process of converting one to 7/8ths scale.

Cabless, or open cab, in the conversion state. Tipplers are ex LGB, with small Bachmann metal wheels, and link and pin couplers.

Goes into 7/8ths service this Saturday at Rail-Ex. Cab, yet to be finished, will be a scaled up copy of the Sidelines On30 to Gn15 kit.
Sorry to crash in on someone elses thread.

Have to say I have admired these Davenports from a distance for some time, would be an interesting conversion to a Battery Powered RC Loco with Sound, guess that is what Rik is thinking as well. Should be doable as I managed to convert the Piko 25 Tonner. That would also make a suitable donor for a 7/8 Loco and be nicely different as well.

This one is battery r/c with sound. all under the hood. Got a Zimo sound decoder with an airwire convrtr board. two 7.4 li-ion batteries.

I'm pretty certain that Tony Walsham has converted one, and it's not too difficult.

SL Engineering also make a replacement chassis, which leaves even more space under the bonnet :)

My thinking exactly.

I like Davenports, I do. OK, these are Gn15 conversions from the On30 model. Success with these inspired me to up one from G to 7/8ths scale.
