Am i missing something

Yes Tony, I saw these as well and thought of your search for more of these coaches. I think that he is under the misapprehension that these might be 'collectables'. Well he does have a collection of them....:rolf::rolf:

This seller is notorious for very silly pricing of LGB stuff, you only have to look at the rest of the items he is offering... you'd think that he'd have realised by now, or maybe some people really are daft enough to pay his prices! Makes me think of that Harry Enfield sketch "I Saw You Coming", with the shop selling overpriced tat to "trendy" pretentious customers..... :rolf:

Jon.

Chaps, you're just soooooo ungrateful. He's now offering free postage, instead of the previous standard £20 charge within UK. 8|

Oooh where's my credit card :rolf::rolf::rolf:
Carefull there could be a 2% admin charge for using a card........You only need to look at his feedback over 400 in a week to see some of the prices some people are happy to pay...... In his defence i supose hes just selling at sec hand shop prices and if he can get away with it whos the idiot

Tony
yes i am envious

I think that we get spoiled by the lower prices that we mostly ask for, or get, on the forum.
That is also taking into acount that we seem to be a veritable collection of tight little monkeys. :o:

As a closet tri-ang collector this guy has some absolutely desirable stuff - but at completely eye watering prices I simply will not pay.

I don't know if it was this dealer or one of the others that has been putting LGB on ebay for silly prices recently that I met at the Sandown Park Toy Fair last month. He showed me the stock that he had brought down in his van and I nearly died laughing at the prices he was asking. He said that he sold an LGB/Aster Garratt from the same collection on ebay for £4000 to an American. I guess that now he thinks he will find idiots who will pay twice the usual second hand price for everything else he has.

At the same show there was another dealer who was asking £50 for a used Accucraft L&B 2 axel van, £200 for an old verion Bachmann Lyn and £200 each for some badly painted GRS L&B kit coaches.

Needless to say I didn't come home with any trains that day!

He is a dealer in all things model railways - definitely to be trusted (in fact he's a nice person) but his pricings are astronomical (in both G and O)

I have said this before that you must be careful that he does not demand more money for postage after you have bought anything from him.

I think this is the real beauty, that will take some beating for value

The well known Dragons price new £14.41 (all be it out of stock), mind you it
could be a good way to make a few quid :- at 100+% mark up
IF you could get any body daft enough to buy at that price :rolf::rolf:

Sorry Rob that one is a RARE ORIGINAL ERNST PAUL LEHMANN....... Original (Read, "Old version").... Ernst Paul Lehmann (Read.... "Ive done my homework to make me sound credible") But the screws are still sealed in the bag !!!!!!!!!!!!!! so might be worth it....Its a shame he opened the box for the photos if it was sealed he could add another £100 and i would have bought it
Tony

I thought Gostude was an extortionate pricer until I saw those Nostalgia Collectibles auctions. One plus point about these sellers though - list your own items when these guys have listings. Your prices will look mega cheap alongside theirs and you'll get more bids and most likely a better price than would normally be the case.

Wish i had know that Tony, just picked up eight of these for
£70, and yes i have already opened the box's and screw
packets :impatient:
Would have sold to you for less than £129 each, am going to see the
same chap tomorrow, will see if he has any more

Sounds like reasonable value to me as my rake of four Bachmann coaches which I got last year cost me over £1,400!

To be fair £1300 of that was the cost of the holiday in the California.
