The year is 1971 and the Rio Grande Narrow Gauge has just taken delivery of their new Rail Grinding Machine. Still in undercoat awaiting managements decision on which livery to apply.
Built by Alco/MLW and using technology under licence from the German manufacturer LGB/Marklin.
Based on the successful DL535E from the WP&Y Railroad and designed to work in multiple with the Rio Grande Narrow Gauge?s own DL535E Locomotive which it purchased the previous year.
