After Memorial Day Running

Shawn

Hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing
Since I had to work Memorial weekend I had my chance to run today. I have not done too many changes other then getting the Bachmann 20ft boxcar weathered and the AV decals on. I also got all my switch stands up.

Looks great - some nice detailing around the line also. Stock and loco looks as though they earn a living as well. Like the trees too!

Very nice Shawn - full of atmosphere.

Belated Happy Memorial Day by the way!

Congrats Shawn
your setup sits really well in the scenery - and the sunlight adds real atmosphere!
Thanks for posting great pics (guess you were holding some greenery out of the way at one stage!)

Regards
Rob

Shawn, great pix as always.

Can you tell me the groundcovers in the bottom pic (left side) and second pic from the bottom on the inside of the turn?

Great Shawn. Looks terrific.

How do you make up your trackbed - particularly in the 4th shot up from the bottom?

Thanks again guys.
Garret the ground cover in last picture is creeping Thyme. The second to last picture the ground cover on inside of turn is Irish Moss.
Martino all my track bed sits on top crusher fines also called stone dust. I dig a 4-6 inch trench then fill with the crusher fines. I then pack it down real good and lay the track on top. Then I level track using crusher fines on top and just sweep it off with a paint brush. Finalley I wet it down. Once dry the dust acts like concrete it holds the track down but can still be broken up easily.

Thanks Shawn,

Essentially the same track bed as mine then! Yours looks better though ;-)

Thanks Shawn.

I have some Thyme, I guess I have too much shade or not enough sun....not really growing!
