A use for ear-bud headphones?

My set of el-cheapo  ear-buds  died so I splurged $2 on a new set. 
But as I was throwing the old ones out, I wondered "what are these good for?"  (as a good modeller would do)

If I prise them apart I get a possible headlight if mounted vertically, or a platform light if mounted on a pole. 

And a tiny speaker - maybe for individual cows in the stock yard??

Who`s got other ideas??????
