A new season's running has begun on the Ardnacraish Light Railway.

A Caraodoc class locomotive, Princess Louise, has joined the fleet:

She has seen service on Passenger..

..and freight duties:

The line's trusty diesel workhorse, Captain Brandy, has been working hard, this time on a mixed service:

The whole loco fleet lined up at Ardnacraish:

The domestic authorities suggested I might like to have a bit more garden for the railway. As the Godfather would say, "an offer I can't refuse".

It involved straightening out a corner of the flower beds:

An idea formed:

This would allow trains to run back to the terminus station. This land grab is now well on the way:

And the temporarily laid track tested:

I've also got around to laying the passing loop (albeit temporarily, as it will need wiring up). However, as the entire operational loco fleet is steam or battery, it finally dawned on me that I could lay some odd bits of track to fill the gap and run trains!

A very neat line and garden. I like it. great pics of the new loco and I like the platform canopy.

looks good - set off nicely by the colour in the garden - much earlier than mine

Thanks for the kind words, guys.
Another mini land-grab has been approved - lifting the stones that separate the passing loop area, to allow the siding to move a bit closer to the border, giving room for a platform between the two ( and without pinching any more of the flower bed). :)

Looking good JR....

The new stretch of track is nearing completion:

Some load testing (yes, I know 2 support beams are still to be fixed...):

Thanks Fred!

Projects are progressing, but not worthy of photos yet.

Meanwhile, trains have been run...

Hi Andy,

it's an Orestein & Koppel, produced by Andel Models. A nice little model, and quite a good hauler for it's size.
