Very nice, the Battery Loco is particularly appropriate for these. Next up a Bucket Loco? Trying to find a picture or even what they are called but no luck. I was thinking of the ones with a bucket on the front that can be used to dump from in front to a tipper behind it in a very low profile.

dunnyrail dunnyrail Do you mean "Skippy the skip Loco" built by Alan Keef? I may give this a go although it is a very niche thing!

No not that, wish I could find a pic but these beast that I refer to are like a mini digger on rails that passes the bucket over the user to behind from where the product is dug 180degrees away to a tipper behind the work site.

This is the closest I could find, not the best but you should be able to see that the bucket can very cleverly be moved over the top of the loco to the wagon behind. A real challenge in any scale. I think the operator must stand on the small platform at the side of the beastie.

Ah it's an Eimco 12B rocker Shovel, I'm planning to release one as a kit and RTR in 16mm and 7/8th scales next year both working and static, There odd Little things with lots of character, The 12B face shovel was the smallest and most common type and could be made to run on gauges between 15" and 38".

Heres a video of one working

David1226 David1226 what scale / gauge is your model?, any more pictures?

This photo was taken on a very small mining layout at the G Scale Society West Midlands Area Group Annual Exhibition, Solihull, 13.2.2016. Unfortunately I cannot find any details of the layout at this time. I would assume it was 16mm scale, but as the prototypes would have been very much smaller than more conventional 16mm stock, it is not easy to judge, it could have been a smaller scale. Unfortunately this is the only photo I have of this item, I took more, but due to the low light levels, the rest were even more blurred and out of focus than this pic, I deleted the rest.

Never delete poor pictures only wrong snaps like pictures of my feet. You never know and with current tech even really poor snaps can be adjusted as you tend to show us every day with your improved pics. I also do not wipe memory cards, keeping them as effectively my first level of backup. They are in fact much cheeper than film would be per pic.

At least we have nailed down what I was struggling to find.

You can see the guy is standing to the side, also interesting to see that it looks like it can swivel 180 degrees on a small turntable. most useful in a mine where audits coukd head off in many different directions. Be interested to see when your proposed model comes out, just one of those would like beasts.

I knew that I had a better picture of the loader that I posted above, I cannot work out how I could not find it in my files. It was actually my Pic of the Day for 14.2.2016. I repost it below.

My pic for today is one that I took at the G Scale Society indoor day, yesterday at Solihull. It is actually from 'the Dark Side' 16mm scale, on a small, delightfully modelled, mining layout called 'The Adit'. I just loved the weathering. The photograph is just about in focus, low light meant large aperture, meaning shallow depth of field.

No, sorry, the layout was very narrow, with a backscene, there was no opportunity to see the other side.

Likely the other side would be quite plain as on the one in the vid as the operating bits are unlikely to be duplicated. Though the one in David’s pics does not appear to have a Turntable so possibly the other side may have some operating potential.

Oh, you've got to love that BEV! There's one at Dolaucothi, a National Trust gold mine west of the Bannau Brecheiniog/Brecon Beacons.
They also have an Eimco compressed air power loader. Photos are from a book about the gold mine.

And finally, a shot that might make a worthy diorama, with a tippler that turns the dram wagons upside down: there's an example of that at Dolaucothi, too.
