I do hope he turns the loco and stock from time to time so even out the flange wear.

If he is anywhere near St.Neots he could bring it over to the Riverside Miniature Railway for a run. Have 5" and 7.25" on their line.

The engineers will be horrified, but I like the mix of metric and imperial measurements in the 1972 diary -sums up the transition to decimalisation of those times!
