2015 NZ Garden Railway Convention Slideshow

Over the long weekend just gone (6th to 8th February) the Christchurch Garden Railway Group hosted the 2015 NZ Garden Railway Convention. 12 railways visited plus about half a dozen clinics presented. It was a great weekend and I hope you enjoy the slideshow I put together as a way of saying thanks to all the layout owners.

Sorry it's a bit long at over 8 minutes but there were a lot of railways to cover,but I'm sure you'll agree there were some great railways on show

Though seemed a little fast on my machine.. Would have preferred it even longer to take it all in! :

So you spend the weekend travelling from railway to railway then?
What sort of distance do you have to cover?

Yes we spent the weekend traveling between the railways with clinics at the start and end of the days at the venue, where the Friday and Saturday evening meals were had. Distance wise the furthermost north railway was at Amberly about 50km from Christchurch (about ) The furthermost south was at Tinwald 90km from Christchurch, a long way but a quality layout and well worth the journey. So we certainly covered some distance! Some railways though were quite close together and it was sequenced so there was ample time at each venue.
