12.7mm scale train

Better known as 1/2 inch or 1:24 scale.
Not so common (and wrong for 45mm track!), but a lot of the earlier Delton and USA Trains Classic freight cars were to this scale.
Some of the Aristocraft Classic range is a reworking of the Delton originals, like the http://www.aristocraft.com/database/?prodid=80203 < Link To C-16 Loco in http://www.freewebs.com/colo3ft/dspprr.htm < Link To Denver South Park and Pacific (DSP&RR) colours at the head of this train.
The matching http://www.aristocraft.com/database/?prodid=82103 < Link To caboose is a Delton original.

You are absolutely right, of course.
The Americans for some perverse reason chose 3' instead, but still made 1:24 models, to muck things up!
