does anybody have one of these for sale ideally bridge werks or USA trains something like that. Also that isn’t stupidly overpriced
If you are perseverant, you may find one in the 300+ range on ebay. They do appear from time to time.
i recently found an older 15 amp version for 340. Seems almost new. It is noticeably heavier than my old 10a version.
if i might....if you dont know bridgewerks, note the connection terminal options/variants.
old ones had 0-24v track, fixed 24v dc, fixed 12v dc,24v ac, which for analogue and accessories is great.
the newer ones have track, per above, and as I recall, fixed 24 dc...thinking no ac...or perhaps, no fixed 12v dc??.which i really like for lighting.
just be aware of this feature aspect.
bridgewerks has a crude but effective speed governor....basically an adjustable bracket that limits the slide speed control. This has, in my case, prevented poor judgment
as for overpriced....its a value perception....my 10 amp has been at work since 1988. They have a fan, so, you can crawl with multiple motors and a heavy load, no overloading. Components like switches and slides have yet to wear out.
fwiw, i have repeatedly read that the r/c versions are prone to having the transmitter or receiver unit fail. I cannot speak to this first hand. If reliable, it would be a very nice feature, imho.
i am a big bridgewerks fanboy. Imho, quality ala 1965 military spec.
the bw banana plugs and handle are wonderfully convenient for bringing in the throttle / power supply and connections.
frankly, compared to the lgb jumbo, which i also have, i prefer bridgewerks, and jumbos can be even more expensive, and i understand they fail...perhap because lgb failed to install an on/off switch. They too have some cool features, but notably no ac output.
in my ebay travels, it seems there are still values, with risk. But, they are fewer, and shipping seems to now be an ebay profit center, as it is absurdly high.
