£50 postage!

Interestingly all their Roundhouse locomotives have a £50 postage tag. All of the smaller gauges are post free.

"if you'd like free-postage get in-touch with our shop " hmmm...... call me cynical perhaps, but is this a way of trying use ebay for advertising only and to wrangle a sale outside of ebay?

That was my thought. Usual eBay fees are 10% which in this case would be £56 at least.

Lots of erroneous listings too. Item location is given as Blakeney - that's on North Norfolk coast, but shop is in Gloucestershire. :mm::confused::confused::confused:

There is a village in Gloucestershire called Blakeney so that might be correct.

Paul
And there's me thinking civilisation might be reaching into Norfolk.

Devil's advocate:

Does it come in a wooden box? With accessories?

Royal Mail Special Delivery, next day..

Probably about right?? :think::devil::think:

I'm afraid you're right Mike, unfortunately humanity is reaching North Norfolk, that's why the roads are clogged

I thought the only ways to travel in Norfolk, were boat, bike, or horse? ;)

And going by the journeys detailed on here it would appear much of the clogging is down to recreational jaunts by members of this forum.

Proper trains emitting smoke were an option when I was a boy, but much of that disappeared in 1959 when what was the old M&GN bit the dust. Just a skeleton survives. Not too much left nautically-wise either. I suspect the broads cruisers and yachts outnumber commercial vessels. (Mustn't forget Captain Rhino and his electric canal boat though). The only time you see a glut of horses is on race day and they don't take you anywhere apart from the cleaners! Just leaves bikes. I do wish someone would invent one that has both wheels the same size - I get quite dizzy precariously balanced about five feet above the cobbles!

Ah....but think of the view

you'll be able to see for miles, in Norfolk! :giggle::giggle:

I thought Mike travelled around by Sedan Chair, ported by four of the local peasantry (the six fingers on each hand give them a good grip on the poles)..... :D

Jon.

I always consider postage costs when adding rolling stock. Some of the postage is ridiculous, even here in the US. I recently saw a Bachmann freight car at $40.00 USD "Buy it Now" on eBay with a $38.00 USD shipping. No thanks.
