Platform 50340

I have just purchased some of this, off the well known auction site, and it did come with instructions (including English), however, the instructions are quite vague, so if I explain my issue, hopefully somebody can help.
Trying a couple of the parts on some Aristocraft track, I had difficulty in getting it to fit, so routing out a 4ft length of LGB, I had another go. It does not seem to fit, except between to spaced (with a fishplate) sleepers, is this correct, also there are slots in the ends of the platform, but no joining items. Any advice would be appreciated.

This is pic of mine on LGB track, the slot is if you use it on Shorty Lengths of straight so that it will sit over the LgB connection pieces (ref 11500) that slot under LGB sleepers to keep things in place. I have held mine in place with brass screws because I wanted them somewhat firmer as I use them to rerail large locomotives.image.jpg

The slots in the "outside" ends are for wiring for signals and points. For some time, I thought that they were so you could extend the depth of the platform by adding another half length to it, but "No", that doesn't work.

I've a set of instructions which shows this (I think) so I'll find them and post them, unless someone does so before me.

Still not forgotten you but a broken down boiler and problems with switching electicity suppliers have further intervened. However, next Wednesday (the 3rd) I have an unexpected free day, so watch this space.

I originally had some derailment problems with the LGB platform pieces, especially lighter wagons when entering the station platform from a previous curve. I just chamfered off the 90 degree corners on the internal track piece to make it more rounded and it’s enough for the wagon wheels to realign and then run smoothly through the platform.

One of the sad parts aboit this was that LGB never did curved sections, would have been great for Tram track. R1 only of course.
