So, Mike has been with me for a while and we had a few adventures - in fact, he accompanied me on some travels...

First Dublin, Nikki and I did a short weekend in Dublin and we took Mike along with us (who said he's a third wheel). We visited Dublin's model railway store - no G Scale but discussed with Nikki and Mike and purchased some N Scale to add to the steadily growing collection. I had a picture of us outside the shop but don't seem to be able to find it.
Singapore
Then it was on to Singapore. I was there for 10 days with work and my plan was to visit the island's Model Railway Store (which does seem to have G). Unfortunately, given I had neither of their accepted payment methods (cash and PayLah) we ended up not taking the trip 40minute taxi ride. I did, however, get some shots of us hanging out in the airport waiting for our return flight...

South Carolina
Then it was the trip to South Carolina (USA) over 'the holidays' as my wonderful wife would say. We visited another local model railroad store and found a couple of G items but we were hand luggage only so weren't able to bring anything home.. It was mostly HO and O (Lionel). Usual delights of the hectic but dreamworld of a specialist model store.

Finally, back to Jersey were Mike has spent much of his time with his feet-up, agreeing with Nikki that I need to tidy the garage and finally get around to digitising those locos I've been meaning to do. The last few days I got more time to the hobby in than in the past few months. Mike oversaw the conversion of a recently purchased Bobo (from
Windym87
) and was present for the initial trials...
This was a part of his visit. Given he didn't spent as much time as he would have liked at the railway, a special was put on just for Mike to give him a tour of the railway. He spent a lot of time checking in on drivers and ensuring all was well. A few comments from him about the length of the non-accessible tunnels, the excessive use of push-through points and the evidently non-working signalling - the latter two items being on the CMO's task list for a while now...
