'tis but the first step in a plan to extend the line across the street and encompass the entire neighbourhood :devil:
if it wasn't for the 'stilts' holding up next doors flat, I would seriously have considered a turning circle in the front garden, but I cant go around the stilts because it would mean going off my verge and onto the shared driveway.

Super! The track embedded in the concrete looks really great. Shows there should be no limit to where the railway can go!

Hi Duncan - I had a similar problem as I too wanted to extend my railway from the back garden to the front. I couldn't go down one side of the house because of the boiler and the oil tank, the other side has a path between the garage and house and that wasn't practical. After spotting an air-brick in the wall and a little investigation I found it would be possible to take the railway under the house - so I did! It goes against all the normal rules for tunnels in our hobby; no longer than 2 arms-length long, easy access etc but I have a tunnel nearly 7 metres long and have had few mishaps in the ten years it has been in use. I have sufficient clearance for all my LGB locos and stock between the concrete foundations of the house and the joists that support the floor-boards, track is secured with alpine grit mixed with S.B.R bond (a bonding agent used in the building industry - it looks like PVA and dries clear) and tunnel portals have been fitted at either end.
I have followed your 'railway story' from the day you laid your first rails and I have enjoyed it very much - thank you.

Thanks very much for that, made happy reading. Unfortunately there's no air bricks in this vicinity. The weird thing is, every time I extend, I have thought, right thats it, there is actually nothing else can be changed. That was back in 2016 ish, and its unrecognisable.

It's not upto date but, come for a ride around my railway. I need to do a new video taking in recent developments, as this took in most parts of the railway before the new siding.

Even the Schleich Horses that came with the canopy have found an inconvenient (to the railway) place to graze. Good job there is no regular timetabled service around this portion of the line. IMG_20210902_135643.jpg
