Nice job love the Cat. How do you intend to cut the Grass by the Shed? Be a bit tricky for the Lawnmower. A friend of mine had a similar small tricky to cut area of grass and used one of these:-

Of course you may be in front of the game and already have such a beast, or else plan to use Clippers or as a last resort Scissors. Tip do not use swmbo’s best dressmaking ones!

Hm you need a Diesel Fueling Tank and a Coal Stage as well!

Paint the 'spoil' by the tower black.. that will do for the coal.. But I reckon you could get a 'tank on a plinth' in there for diesel?

Ideally for the comfort of the Steam Crew Coal should be stored at a suitable height for being shovelled into the Loco. Some Sheds use Small Conveyors from a ground level site, others use a digger. This is my Coal Facility at Alexisbad. Made up from left over bits of Pola or Piko Tunnel Mouth Brickwork and the Top from Newquida Wagon left overs. An all Stone or Wood Construction Facility would work just as well.

At the real Station in the old days an Open Wagon with Coal was placed in a dead Road between the Running Lines and the Loco sat on the Running Line with the Coal shovelled across. These days they appear to manage a half day on the Selktalbahn, coaling up again in Gernode half way through the Running day.

My Diesel fuelling facility at Gernrode is a Tank that I picked up at a Show (ok I know it should be Diesel but it is not normally seen from this angle). The Pump was found somewhere or other many years ago at a Shop. One of those things that when seen was pounced on, May have even been a Pound Shop thing.

I'm going to look at getting a coaling stage. My diesel fuel is situated down in the yard, in a typically disorganised railway fashion. I call it operating interest. And steady you guys, if SWMBO reads all your ideas, I will get lynched! I was lucky to even get the shed DSC_0072.JPG

And finishing touch, a new plant to green the area up rather than a pile of featurless rocks. Looks loads different to the early days when the shed was in the corner with no mainline.

In for some light maintenance is a passenger car, and then some gauge testing. I need to get some rail clamps for elsewhere on the line but these are ever harder to come by, and the Piko effort is a pile of poo, as the thread just wears away when tightening the bolts. Any ideas where to buy good heavy duty ones? DSC_0074.JPGDSC_0075.JPGDSC_0076.JPGDSC_0077.JPG

On my railway, I've decided that all my steam locos are oil fired, so I don't need a coaling stage?

Coal is in the bunker for effect only, and all locos can be converted back to coal firing if required!

All looking good Paul....
