Just an Update. Made break- and rear- an headlights.
76999-licht-puffer.jpg

If my friend Wilfried annoys me, I threaten him by painting his Tram Model pink an building flower boxes under the Windows. Well, because easter is coming, I gave the Tram a colorful headlight. My friend was not thrilled about it. It changes red, blue, yellow and green. :kissing:

Today I made the buffers. The rivets for the buffers were made from pins. Before that, I laid cables.

Ha! I found you on buntbahn.de! What a wonderful forum that is, what masterpieces of modelling is shown there! Too bad my German writing is sooooo bad, but I can read it. I’m also a member there, but don’t post due to the language.

@ Henri: Your Backer & Rueb steam tram is also a great modell. Well done.

Today the work car got its feet. I attached the motors. However, I had to make the floor assembly new. The car was 4mm too high. I took the opportunity to use a wooden floor. Now the car is still 1mm too high. But I think you can get over it. The lamps in the roof were tested for function. All right.
The Esu decoder is located just below the car side. I may have to add a section in the floor assembly. I'll look at that tomorrow. An analog test drive will take place tomorrow. The car must be able to drive on R1. It's just a tram.
76776-modell-atw-751-06.04.2020.jpg

I still have to paint here.
76775-modell-atw-751-06.04.2020.jpg

The middle aisle is new.
76771-modell-atw-751-06.04.2020.jpg

The height of the chassis still needs to be adjusted.

76773-modell-atw-751-06.04.2020.jpg

Now the imaginary driver could get in and drive off.
The test will be carried analog tomorrow. Finally, it must be possible to drive on R1. Because it is a tram.

I'll second that, some truly incredible bits of miniature engineering on that forum with some really interesting prototypes that just don't feature in the UK.

Thank you for sharing your builds Peter. I've never been too interested in trams (again, probably because original systems are near extinct in the UK) but I'm always fascinated by the vehicles and tools behind the scenes that keep everything going. Your MOW vehicles make for really interesting prototypes and the skills you've displayed building them are inspirational.

Work tram, Atw 751 made its first attempts. It was just a first analog test. For better power consumption, it got two H0 pick up shoes, from old a Märklin rail buses. Do you have a better idea?

And sorry again. Radio in the background.

I painted the new floor unit. Now I am going to install the cabling for the decoder.

In times of Corona I was sold an ESU 5L decoder. Unfortunately, it can address so many things.
Why shouldn't you use that.

Of course there is the headlights and taillights. The brake light should switch on automatically when the car slows down. The target and line boxes, as well as the interior lighting, everything has to be wired. Oh yes, it can also blink. So he gets flashing direction indicators.

In addition, an outlet was installed on the front. There come out two cables that pass on the electricity to the sidecar via magnets. The two cables are soldered together at the end. Holders were made from 0.2mm sheet metal on the end walls. There you can hang up the power coupling when the car is moving forward, or is traveling without a sidecar. The second power line goes over the Albert coupling made of brass. In theory, this type of power transmission works. That still has to prove itself in practice.

This rail transport wagon is to be pulled by the work tram.

Now the digital stuff has to be programmed. ??? Let's see who does it for me. I just need help. Mitr also lacks a programmer. It's very complicated with the Massoth handheld.

That's all for today.

Yes using a Massoth handset to program can be a bit tricky, but likely you will not have too many CV’s to do so one at a time should be ok. Do a list out of the ones that you are to change with the current value and what is to be changed to in a small notebook listing the loco and chip number. After check that all the updates have been done as you expected with a tick on the paper for each stage corrected. Sounds a little beurocratic and it is, but well worth the effort To get things right and the record may work for future conversions.

Thanks dunnyrail, I allready was thinking to do that, in case of a later failure with this decoder.
Today I took apart the 266 first, it had problems with its gearbox. I realigned it and reassembled the tram. Only the roof remained open. I took a hot air dryer and bent a figure's arms and legs. Now he can operate the crank and brake.
The roof of the work tram was sanded several times and continuously improved. Finally the primer could be used. Now the roof looks much better without the patchwork look.

Sanding comleted and primer on the tram body. Now I'm looking for the orange colour. And once again I have a huge respect for the paintwork. So far I have not been able to achieve successful painting in the first pass. You can mess up a model in the last step.

After all the electrics, details now come into the work tram. Rear light, brake light, head light lighting, electrical couplings via cable and coupling are ready.

77239-modell-atw-751-30.04.2020.jpg

The trailer now also has brakes and taillights. He gets a decoder for the control.

77243-modell-atw-751-02.05.2020.jpg

The interior has been completed.

77244-modell-atw-751-02.05.2020.jpg

Vice and tin snips were installed.

77245-modell-atw-751-02.05.2020.jpg

Handles on the seats can also be found in a work tram car.

77247-modell-atw-751-02.05.2020.jpg

Windshield wipers and wiper motor should not be missing. The roof, the pantograph and the chassis still have to be painted.

Some more works. Roof and chassis came out of the paintshop.

77253-modelle-atw-751-06.05.2020-.jpg

My friend made for the KSW trailer hand rails onto the seats.

77257-modelle-atw-751-07.05.2020-.jpg

Now the tram gets window seal. Made with 1mm cable. I milled an edge for that.

Four tram models are in the workshop. KSW Trailer 532 came from the paint shop with a filler.
77298-modelle-532--04.06.2020.jpg

Wasserwagen 711 got a new decoder. So far, the lighting and the warning light were powered by a battery. Now these are to be controlled with the Decocer. Unfortunately, that didn't work. Ultimately, the tram turned into a steam locomotive. The decoder was blown and smoking.
77291-modelle-atw-711-04.06.2020.jpg

Work car 751 is waiting for an answer from ESU. The brake light on the Decocer does not work. It's a problem I'm not alone with. He also got his first white stripes.
77292-modelle-atw-751-04.06.2020.jpg

And my friend Wilfried brought his little work van and forced me to drink coffee with sweeteners. He needed the box for his new tank wagon. So I drank nearly 1,000 coffee, urghh.
