After 3 years of procrastination and 2 months of planning I've finally cut the first sod for my new garden railway! This will be the site of Brookside Station.

Oh lovely dog name please? Oh and well done tor getting started, you can see where my priorities are.
The dog's name is Preeti. She is a Romanian rescue. She was given the name by the people who saved her from the kill shelter. Translated into English it means Cutie.

In my mind, 3 years of procrastination isn't inordinately long.

Railway construction week one progress.

The Brookside Station area. Making the station will be a winter project. Meanwhile I've cut a template for the platform from MDF.

I've been having a bit of trouble trying to sort out this dogleg.

I'm very pleased with the results I've obtained with my new rail bender. The tracks from Brookside Station need to converge until they are parallel. I'm using the blocks of wood to ensure the tracks are perfectly parallel.

Looks really interesting, especially the planned quarry branch. Will follow developments with interest.

Good progress, nice to see Preeti is in charge of matters even tough while on her back! Just shows how good dogs are at supervision.

She does love the garden which is why she often appears in photos. Her companion has yet to make an appearance.

The first stock movement on the new railway. A train making its way through the quintessential Worcestershire countryside between Stoke Works and Brookside.
