The Quinton Line

I've been rather quiet over the last year or so and seem to have inadvertently changed my name as well. Here is an update.
The track at the Quinton line remains the same as it has been for many years now. The big thing this year has been the introduction of 4 battery radio control locos using Deltang equipment. This has been most satisfactory on small locos but I will keep track power for the large American locos.
At the moment half of the line has been taken up as tree removal is taking place. Even worse the control centre for the whole line (aka the shed) has been declared unfit for use due to rot - well it is over 40 years old so its not done badly. The new control centre is due to arrive next week. After that comes the task of refitting all of the electrics and controls can start. As I have point controllers and route indicator lights this will be no small task.Should keep me out of mischief for a while.
In the meantime all I can run is a battery operated shuttle to the current end of the line.

For some reason I always feel the urge to film the Zephyr when I get it out. In this vid two freights are held for the Zephyr. Wouldn't happen in the USA today!

While I was running I decided to see what a trip round the garden would look like from one of my open tourist cars.

Hold tight!
Hm any railway doing that would be closed down immediately by the safety executive. Still fun but must have been quite hair raising whilst you were changing that point as the express freight got closer?
