Following lots of discussion in 'Playmobil Ideas and other threads, it is starting to become clear that not only do loads of people need various parts for their PM locos and stock, but there are actually a few people who are making bits.

Xav recently found someone making 3D printed 4017 etc Old Time Steam Loco chimneys (30 60 3910) and the much sought after caboose chimneys (30 60 696).

Chimney: https://www.ebay.fr/itm/1-CHEMINEE-...m=202283132329&_trksid=p2047675.c100752.m1982

Dave Miller (Idle Marvel) found this interesting link which I have yet to fully explore: http://www.yeggi.com/q/playmobil/?s=tt

Brian found someone making the little Dynamo? (30 60 392, 30 61 269 & 30 621 4250) from the 4052 tender loco and the 4017 etc Old Time Steam Loco and in Aluminuim! Just checked, and sadly these appear to have ended

For my own part some years ago I had a small batch of 4054 Steaming Mary Cab Roofs (30 05 208) copy moulded in black resin. More recently I had a batch of Steaming Mary Toolbox covers (30 60 733) made too in cream resin. I also still have a handful of replicas the long narrow weights (30 80 491) from the 4052 loco and tender.

Over time I found that the rare hard to find parts that are usually missing are the two different Smoke Deflectors (30 60 489) from 4052, and the Smoke Stack (30 60 791) and Cab Roof (30 20 412) from the 3958 UPRR loco/4035 RC Santa Loco, although as Brian has pointed out these do actually turn up on US e-bay, at a price!

So over to you: What do you need, make or know about?

Thanks for sharing those links. That railway station is both beautiful and magnificent, but at €550 it is a little rich for me - I could get almost another complete rake of UPRR coaches for that!

I hope you don't mind, but as there are other sites where non-railway PM parts are discussed I would like this thread to stick to train related parts if we can, although given the nature of PM I guess some crossover is inevitable!

I suppose I could always use the castle parts in a PM model of the rail bridge at Conwy!

So having had a moment to go through the link posted by Dave I see that people are offering two versions of the original style Spring Coupling - one seemingly a direct copy of the original and the other a modified version.

There is also a battery track crossing and that battery box that Brian mentioned. Which looks very complicated indeed!

Not sure how it works - does it come with contacts?

Finally there are some replacement pick ups for the track powered series - an original approach for sure, but I will leave you all to decide what you think of them.

Can anyone tell me how we find out what these items each cost and how to order them? You seem to need to belong to some other app before you can buy.

I recall that ordering from Shapeways was a bit of an ordeal, but can't fathom this at all.

If anyone knows, please could you share what we have to do?

James
