My transformer has decided to frustrate me by sometimes working-sometimes not. (I'm disapointed that it's gone "maverick" as it's less than two years old!!). I have tried to open it up to take a peek inside, for anything obvious, but I can not open the case, no matter how I try.

So - lets assume that I can not get it working correctly, or have it repaired economically, has anybody got any suggestions as to where I can obtain a suitable alternative power supply?.

Currently I use the LGB 50110 connected to an LGB Throttle/Controller, and I operate two loco's with no immediate plans to increase this. All my other bits & bobs (lighting, points etc) are operated via a series of 12v batteries (not very efficient but workable).

I seem to remember an earlier thread mentioning suitable power supplies available at "Maplins" but all ideas would be welcome.

Over to you folks.

Well at under two years old it should still be under warranty.
I respectfully suggest you fully explore this option before considering any other action.
