I've always tried to promote the play value of Playmobil to my offspring in hopes they would see the wisdom of starting collections, so to speak, for my grandchildren. Alas, it was not to be. But the grandchildren love playing with my Playmobil figures when they are here.

The pure diversity and detail pieces made by PM is astounding.

The pure diversity and detail pieces made by PM is astounding.
They are, and some of the sets not what you would tthink of for chilren, the police speed trap, is one example.

I first started collecting Playmobil and setting up displays when I was a volunteer photographer with the fire brigade and I remember at one fire station open day the firefighters bitterly complaining to their Station Officer that the 3880 Playmobil fire engines in the display were equipped with portable pumps as standard (working ones, too), so why didn't their life size fire engines have them.

I didn't know that those extender pieces could be used for curves.

The battery holder looks unfamiliar.

The piston rods are also notable.

The green baggage car is nice.
GOOD CATCH ! I DIDN'T NOTICE THOSE PIECES.

Thank you All

The battery holder is the grey that you know -bbbb, but I painted this one in black color.
Since these photos, I painted another battery holder in red color ( I tried to find same red color as frame ).
I thought it could be better for another loco

I prefer the rods of loco 4051 / 4052 so I add them to this loco 4017
( But I was not lucky with color choice )

The green baggage car is the yellow van.
My copy was damaged .
Some parts were both swollen and bulged ( blistered ) like if it has been near heat or open flame.
And there was a kind of mould that I had to sand in order to remove it.
So I had to paint it.
This van has the same green color than passenger cars that you saw already.
I made the missing slides and doors.

I planned to add rear lights but for the moment I do not succeed in adapting Playmobil parts.
I consider to use those of LGB.
