So moving on, I needed to make some brackets to take the new lamps I received from SLR Models, great service and turnaround. Bit of picture hook for the rear..

Bit of straigened L bracket for the front behind the smokebox door

Boiler got painted and the lamp tested..

Cab got repainted..

All the radio gear got shoved in and it got a quick re-assemble. waiting on the roof to dry, I also removed the bell. Need to add a bit more detail as yet but getting there. Need to build the valve gear at some point. Tis a little daunting!

Nice. What did you use for the windows?

I use old CD cases, they are invariably a bit scratched and faded which gives a nice 'old glass' look.

Cheers for the feedback guys. Roof is done but i'm not happy with that so may repaint it as yet.

It is very shiny!
Have to say (sorry!), whilst impressed with the quality of said gloss finish, I just don't like the 'shiny-ness' of it. :(

I suppose it does fit with a Playmobil ethos though?

I'm not overly keen on just how shiny it is. The cab is less shiny than the boiler, but i'm sure it can be toned down with some weathering :)

Quick(ish) video I shot today of the RC City Action diesel and my now fully RC converted 4051 steam loco. Mainly loco testing as I re-quartered the wheels on the 4051 for potential valve gear improvements and to test the first pair of points i've (finally) acquired. Enjoy.

That lining I was on about. Hies my cack masking excellently. In progress..

Hopefully (if it all stays on) finished!

I cheated a bit and used 2mm automotive styling stripes. I never have much luck with waterslide stuff and this is big enough to just get away with using vinyl. I think it helps break it up nicely.
