Has anyone fitted the RCS elite R/C into a bachmann spectrum 2-6-0 (not the indy)? I have a 2-6-0 which I am going to convert to battery power. I assume you are able to fit everything in the tender but would welcome comments from anyone who has done this before. Also does anyone know what Brandbright charges for the 2 amp ECU and receiver I already have the transmitter. Last time I emailed them I did'nt get an answer, or am I better just ordering the parts direct from Tony in Aus?

Thanks

Colin

Welcome to the forum.

Brandbright has been my long term RCS dealer in the UK and to support Richard & Shirley the arrangement I have with them is that they supply the RCS proprietary systems to UK customers.
This agreement does not apply to the EVO & BELTROL control systems. They can be obtained from any dealer or direct.

You may not be aware that Richard had very severe health problems last year and is only now recovering from them.
I am sure that they will reply to you as soon as they can.
Please ask Brandbright first and if they say contact me direct I will be glad to help you.

As to the Bachmann 2-6-0. I have not done one but I have done the 4-4-0 which has an almost identical tender.
There is not much space but an all on board installation is possible. Esecially now that Li-Ion batteries take up significantly less space.
One thing you must do is remove the motor "noise" suppression pcb from the end of the motor as this will likely cause erratic operation from the RCS ELITE ESC.

Thanks for the replies, I will investigate the cost of the beltrol system and wait to hear from Brandbright for prices and availability of the elite parts. Got to admit I kind of like the little handheld controller of the elite.

Welcome Colin

If you haven't tried, may I suggest phoning Brandbright? They were never heavily into emailing and with Richard's health problems, they may be even less likely to respond to a mail for the moment.

I have always had excellent service from them by phoning, even since Richard has been poorly.

I hope I don't embarrass Tony by saying I have had superb service from him too. When I had a problem with one of the systems I had bought from Brandbright, Tony was extremely helpful and the problem was solved quickly with no fuss. That for me is what separates the excellent from the good.
