Just tried a Mylocosound card in a Mallet, it has not been fully set up yet, the Whistle still needs to be set.

I think that it gives a good sound for such an inexpensive sound unit. I also want to try the new Chuff switch version, but not sure how to set up the optical chuff switch on the Mallet.

Also tried my first video on You Tube, have a look and see what you think.

I like the way this guy operates his Mallet.

I can see you really enjoyed yourself making that video.

The alternative to an optical switch is to mount small magnets in the spokes of a wheel and use a reed switch mounted to operate as the magnets rotate. Sierra used to provide magnets and reeds with their sound systems. They provided two magnets which mounted on opposite sides of the wheels gave you two beats. For four beats you need four magnets, however two beats sound better as four beats tend to run together.
